UNITED WAY PROMOTES FINANCIAL STABILITY AND INDEPENDENCE Achieving greater stability allows lower-income working families to move toward financial independence. Unfortunately, most lower income working families do not have resources saved to weather an emergency that might require unanticipated expences. Our community has many individuals and families that need financial assistance in order to pay for child care while they work or to become stable enough to stay in permanent housing. United Way of the Concho Valley provides funding support to the following programs that are able to assist the lower-income working families: Institute for Cognitive Development, NewBridge Family Shelter
The Salvation Army, Emergency Assistance Program
YMCA, Scholarships for After School Care Program
